Is it possible to integrate QGIS, PostGIS and Nextcloud?
Absolutely. This open source "trident" is extremely powerful. PostGIS serves as the central geodatabase connected live to QGIS desktop, while Nextcloud is used to exchange large files such as digital models and orthophotos among team members, in a synchronized and secure way.
What is PostGIS?
PostGIS is the spatial extension of the PostgreSQL relational database. It turns a standard database into a container capable of storing and querying geometries (points, lines, polygons), enabling complex spatial calculations directly at the server level, essential for any serious WebGIS.
QGIS Server, Lizmap and G3W-Suite: what are the differences?
QGIS Server is the "engine" that renders the maps. Lizmap and G3W-Suite are interfaces (web clients) that run on top of QGIS Server. Lizmap is excellent and historically well established. G3W-Suite is a powerful Italian alternative offering a very advanced administration panel. I configure and optimize both, depending on your preferences.
